When the Aurora Theatre opened to a sellout crowd in 1925 with a showing of Madame Sans Gene
starring Gloria Swanson, it was promoted as a safe modern theatre, equipped for motion pictures, dramatic and musical entertainment, both local and touring. A large venue, seating over 650 patrons, the Aurora Theatre has hosted many live shows, premere events and motion pictures to the delight of generations. Today, the theatre has undergone a dramatic renovation with beautiful mahogany doors accented with brass kick plates, an expanded lobby area to welcome patrons, and a brand-new concession area featuring state-of-the-art food service equipment.
